50 an hour 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Position Summary Intake & scheduling coordinator to gather necessary patient information and assign appropriate clinical staff to our patients after admission.
As an essential member of our front office team under the supervision of the Office Manager, this individual will advocate for the patients and assist our clinical staff to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.
Essential Responsibilities 1.
Greet and register new and established patients as they arrive for their appointments 2.
Provides information on the services offered and schedules accordingly for existing and potential patients.

Gather and verify patient insurance information 4.
Assist patients with alternative methods when health insurance is unavailable 5.
Ensure that staff is seeing patients as ordered and missed visit notes are written when appropriate 6.
Receive and process all incoming referrals via telephone, fax, email & walk-ins 7.
Accurately documents information and performs data-entry, maintaining confidentiality of information daily.

Audits and preps charts before the arrival of patient scheduled appointments, adding necessary alerts, revising sliding fee scales, setting up guarantors, verifying insurance information, and inputting preferred names/pronouns.
9.
Demonstrates a high level of customer service and phone etiquette while navigating a high volume of calls.
10.
Review eligibility and phone list for unconfirmed appointments on Athena and document accordingly to reflect contact attempts the day prior to scheduled appointments.
11.
Collects co-payments or charges associated with visits for insured and non-insured patients on a Sliding Fee Discount Program for rendered services.
Deliver and complete daily charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner.
Balances cash box at the beginning and end of the day.

Assist in the resolution of any outstanding issues and/or patient concerns 13.
Keeps lobby organized and appropriate information posted and fresh 14.
Other tasks as assigned and needed to provide front office support Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Good Spanish and English communication skills Works well with people from a diverse background Customer service experience and excellent communication skills Attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues Knowledge of computer, Word, Excel preferred, merchant payment machine, fax machine and scanner.
Previous experience in related areas (intake, medical office) preferred.
Ability to analyze complex situations in mature and to act effectively Requires the ability to perform basic math functions and to assemble data into spreadsheet program Requires excellent communication, human relations, attention to detail and organizational skills Knowledge of community social services and human relations and the benefits available to patients This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
